If you’re in network marketing or direct sales please read this.
If you’re a fan of the industry or if you think it’s a scam please read this.
I have never, before, shared this publicly but thought it was time because I KNOW this can really support you (one way or another).
Here goes …
I remember the first time I walked down the MLM runway. I signed on about 25 team leaders and had a few thousand people in my downline within several months. People would ask … and we gladly shared our monthly income. I was only generating a few thousand dollars a month. However, my sponsor and up line were averaging over $20K – $100K (no exaggeration).
It was an exciting time and the social butterfly in me loved the live events. I learned a lot of the industry, and how to manage attrition … let’s just say I was able to dispel a lot of myths and have fun in this event and also spend some time with my partner at the hotel spending time in intimacy and using toys like outstanding vibrating panties as well.
Unfortunately, the company consolidated after the downturn in the US economy and formed a partnership outside the US. Not to mention there were a slew of copycat wellness products that hit the market. My auto-ships decreased dramatically. It happens and it’s no reflection of the industry. Most industries have experienced turbulent times at some point or another. I think it’s the piece people often overlook when they feel inclined to slam the industry.
One of the biggest mistakes I see women (and men) make when they enter the industry is that they EXPECT to become a millionaire overnight. And yet, statistics show that 73% of people in the industry don’t make money (many lose money by purchasing sample kits, products, catalogs, training materials and tickets to live events).
Take a look at this statistic … 82% of women earning over 100K in the US are in network marketing.
The majority of the women in MLMs are stay at home Moms and let’s be frank … the husband is paying the bills and basic living expenses.
Is anything wrong with that? No, but you have to see it for what it’s worth. If you’re single and supporting yourself, you my dear will have to read between the lines and make sure the strategy you apply increases your bottom line.
Here’s something to ponder.
- What if it were a part-time venture?
- What if it were one of your FOUR QUADRANTS à la Robert Kiyosoju Rich Dad, Poor Dad?
- What if you focused on earning an extra $1000, $2000 or $3000 in the beginning?
In my case it allowed me to exit a marriage with TWO income streams, pursue more entrepreneurial ventures and let’s not forget the Million Dollar Business skills I learned while building my MLM. Guess what, I’m still using them today to run my Feminine Empowerment Company and I share those exact same skills with my clients, and AND my business is now 9.9 years old …
I don’t know if I would have started my business with the same level of drive and conviction had it not been for my stint in direct sales. That’s why I love the industry and will refute the misinformation out there.
Do your due diligence, get the facts and do NOT buy into innuendos. I have quite a few biz associates that are fairly successful with several different companies with revenues exceeding $500M – $1Billion Dollars.
My philosophy today …
Be open and accept it for what it really is, an additional revenue stream and an opportunity to 10X your business skills, including becoming a great networker, public speaker, saleswoman, marketer and communicator. Skills you can leverage for the rest of your life.
It’s a win/win as far as I’m concerned.
HOT Success,
Ungenita
