Stiletto Sales Are Down But Your Closing Ratios Don’t Have To Be Too

Stiletto sales dropped by 71% last year. I wonder what women are doing with the money in their “stiletto fund”.

Today, I will share why #IClose is the most valuable hashtag in YOUR business.

It never ceases to amaze me how much women seem to hate selling.

Ask us to add value and share everything we know on a particular topic – NO PR0BEM.

Many are ready to rise to the “occasion” somehow thinking that the sale will miraculously appear in our Stripe account when SOMEONE else sees our value.

Now don’t get me wrong, there is great merit in sharing value with potential clients before a sales conversation, however the problem with this comes when you are continuously sharing without systems and processes in place to generate leads and subsequently, SALES.

☑️ You constantly share your expertise via social media posts but there is NEVER a clear Call to Action.

☑️ You have a Kick A$$ webinar where you share pearl after pearl confidently and dynamically, yet when it comes to communicating the VALUE of your offer your voice cracks and you divest yourself of your power, almost apologetically stating the price of your program and why the people who are watching should invest in you.

☑️ You create an elaborate email campaign full of content which clearly shows your expertise, but notably highlights your deficiency in putting your product or offer out there and calling in the money.

☑️ You LOVE chitchatting on the phone with your business besties but you have yet to master money making conversations. #IClose is not a hashtag you can confidently add to your status update.

We are trained by society and culture to think of “selling” as inherently ugly and dirty. All selling means is to communicate the value of something. So “selling yourself” means communicating your value – and that’s an ability EVERY WOMAN on this gorgeous green earth can benefit from.

The truth is it doesn’t matter how skillful or talented you are at something if you don’t know how to SELL YOURSELF.

I’m sure you are EXCEPTIONAL at showcasing your expertise but when it comes to selling, if you are like most women. You step back and hope the nuggets you drop will garner BUYERS.

What’s the problem?

This is a passive and low profit margin approach.

When you have such a tumultuous relationship with selling you are inclined to overshare for FREE without really knowing when to draw the line, diminishing your selling power and earning power day by day, week by week … get it?

When this happens, you end up feeling tired, overwhelmed, frustrated, and in many cases desperate to figure out what you are doing wrong.

“Likes” don’t pay the bills.

You figure the people who are liking, engaging with your posts and consuming your free content, should step up to the plate and ask you how they can work with you and when they don’t you end up feeling bitter, resentful, and uncertain about the state of your business.

What’s missing?

A clear framework for people to say “yes” or “no”.

Essentially, someone CANNOT buy what you are not SELLING.

Selling is one of the highest forms of service you can offer yourself and your prospective client.

When you step into selling, you send a powerful message to yourself that you deserve to be paid for the solutions you solve for your clients/customers.You can also find remote jobs to get your passion come job done.

Selling feels sleezy, cheap and uncomfortable because you haven’t exercised your self promotion skills and “selling muscles”.

I’ve been told on more than one occasion it “feels off”.

It’s not the sales process. It’s YOU.

✓ Selling is an act of power.
✓ It is service at the highest level.
✓ It is an exercise in self value and self- worth and it is ABSOLUTELY necessary for you and your client to move to the next level.

What’s the point of you being an ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT businesswoman and not having the financial freedom to back it up?

I will tell you – None!

AND YOU want to know something else – the men ARE NOT doing it. They are selling ice to Eskimos without an ounce of guilt.

It is time we shift our thinking and stop running away from the very thing which holds the key to wealth, influence and power.

It is time we command our worth.

It is time that we sell and sell boldly, powerfully and unapologetically, because by doing this we raise the possibility for ourselves and our clients through the energetic exchange which happens when money is exchanged

So, the next time you feel tempted to think that selling is cheap, I challenge you to reconsider and consider, what is really cheap is SELLING YOURSELF SHORT, putting so much value out there for free and walking away empty handed.
