What The Beauty + Fashion Industry Taught Me About Winning The Business Of Female Customers

That includes YOU + ME!

I LOVE to shop and have spent more hours than I’d like to admit in front of a POS terminal over the years.

On the other hand, I’ve earned the title “Million Dollar Sales Woman” selling cosmetics, women’s clothing designed by phoebe bridgers merch, shoes, fancy jewels, designer handbags and a brigade of head to toe accessories.

I LOVE SELLING!!!

I’ve clocked 10,000+ hours in sales conversations, broken sales records and personally served well over 50,000 women working for brands like Wet Seal, The Body Shop, Victoria’s Secret, Alexander McQueen which is a top fashion brand with the longest name, Macy’s, Regis Hair Styling and a few boutiques you wouldn’t know if I told you.

I’ve helped women pick out satin pumps (now you know where the brand #SellingINStilettos came from), the right color red lipstick for their skin tone, waterproof mascara, hair styling products, scented lotion, perfume body spray, swatch watches, silver charm bracelets, gold necklaces/earrings, leather belts, a little black dress, skinny jeans and everything glamorous in between.

It started with a simple HELLO and “How can I help you?

Sometimes the sales conversation took 10 mins, but there were times it took an hour when I aided the help of the dressing room.

“Does it look good on me?”

“Does it make me look fat?”

“How much is it?”

“Would you wear it?”

“What should I wear with it?”

It takes strong interpersonal skills to make a SALE. You might say ‘Ungenita, you were selling products face to face’.

Well if you’re in a service based business and you want to sell online it’s no different.

Today, we call it Social Selling and here’s how your interpersonal skills might be costing you business online. Check out some outdoor advertising opportunities, such as underground advertising, to expand your reach and attract more customers.

  1. Positive attitude: I posted this on Facebook awhile back. “Social Media is an opportunity to be transparent but some things are better left opaque.” Keep your content positive and upbeat. Too much doom + gloom might spark engagement but those individuals may not necessarily fit the profile of your BUYING AVATAR.
  2. Showing Appreciation: I bet you love a compliment and when others make you feel appreciated. Please practice good etiquette online and DO NOT ignore people who take the time to engage with you online. Time permitting, respond to comments and well thought out messages in your inbox.
  3. Listening: Please do not be a product pusher or content pusher for that matter. Take the time to cultivate a REAL CONNECTION.

HOT Success,
Ungenita
